Okay, let's note Paul Rudnick and then we'll return for the climatic closing where we explain Chris Hedges' latest bit of journalistic malpractice.

Chris Hedges. Chrissy Lynn. "Why does it matter that he lied about Iraq?" An e-mailer asked that.

Honestly, I think the answer is that it doesn't matter to you.

Why that is, you'll have to ask yourself. I don't know you. And seriously doubt that I'd want to at this point.

Over a million Iraqis are dead because of an illegal war. I don't fake ass. I'm not Tulsi Gabbard lying to Joe Rogan and then revealing her real colors on the debate stage when she's finally standing next to Joe Biden and can call him out but chooses not to and goes even further by excusing his vote for the Iraq War and then spending the following days repeating that excuse to anyone who will put her on camera. With that face -- she might consider a chemical peel -- she's never going to get many chances to be on air. FOX "NEWS" needs her so they ignore her cult membership and the fact that the cult is extremely anti-Christian. Remember that the next time FOX tries to pose as though they're devoted church goers.

And it's the truth. The dead are the luckier ones of the two, they're gone. It's their children and friends and family that are left behind to suffer the loss.

All those lives don't matter?

Or they don't matter as much as your need to fan-boy Chrissy Lynn? "Friend of the show," Katie Halper calls him. Do journalism ethics not matter to Katie Halper?

His lies are not to be overlooked.

For example, look at the following which he wrote last week:

I have known Cornel for many years. We drove together, leaving at 3:00 am from our homes in Princeton, New Jersey, to attend the trial at Fort Meade of U.S. Army whistleblower Chelsea Manning. I was in the visitors room at the prison in Frackville, Pennsylvania, as Cornel gripped the shoulders of the political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal and told him “You have Frederick Douglass in you, brother!” Tears streamed down Mumia’s face. Cornel and I held a People’s Hearing of Goldman Sachs in Zuccotti Park during the Occupy movement where those who were evicted and bankrupted by big banks testified against the heartlessness and greed of corporate capitalism. We have spoken together at rallies in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against the Israeli-apartheid state. We walked three miles on a sweltering July day in Philadelphia with thousands of homeless people to the Wells Fargo Center during the 2016 Democratic National Convention, because housing is a human right.

I was with Cornel when Bernie Sanders delegates, disgusted by the machinations of the Democratic National Committee against their candidate and his endorsement of Hillary Clinton, walked out of the convention. Cornel turned to me and said presciently, “Bernie lost his political moment.”

We have taught classes together in East Jersey State Prison. We have spoken on stages at universities where Cornel has demanded reparations for Black people and called for a guaranteed income for all citizens. I have heard him denounce the prison industrial complex as “a crime against humanity.” I have listened to him call for universal health care, canceling student debt, free university education, freedom for Julian Assange and heard him thunder against those who deny women access to abortion.

Cornel officiated, along with the theologian Dr. James Cone, at my ordination as a Presbyterian minister. We spoke, and wept, at James’ funeral in 2018 at Riverside Church. James wrote that we must stand, no matter the cost, with the crucified of the earth.

Check my math but I believe the column that's from is 30 paragraphs long. Those are the only paragraphs in the column -- about Cornel West being the People's Party's presidential nominee where Chris talks about knowing Cornel. And the comments are from "when we spoke about his decision" on that car ride he mentioned in the above excerpt.

Do you see the problem?

Maybe not. But it's a lie. It's a full on lie. When Chrissy published his lies, he thought he could get away with it. I mean the garbage we just quoted from SCHEER POST -- but actually, he thought he could get away with it at THE NEW YORK TIMES as well. He got away with it at THE TIMES. It was years before Jack Fairweather at MOTHER JONES and FAIR's COUNTERSPIN noted Chrissy's Iraq lies. Then it was circle the wagon and protect the creep.

Which is why everyone knows Judith Miller's name today but no one knows Chris Hedges in regards to pimping a war on Iraq. Judith Miller wasn't the co-author of the piece Dick Cheney waved around on MEET THE PRESS -- Chrissy was.

Chrissy lies. It's a pattern he cannot break.

And he lied at SCHEER POST. Oh, he shared how they were friends and all the times they did this and that.

So people think he told the truth about Cornel and about the nomination. They think he did. But he lied.

And he might have gotten away with it if the nomination from The People's Party hadn't blown up in Cornel's face.

We noted it yesterday, refer to that interview with BLACK POWER MEDIA. Stream it.

Then go back and read Chrissy Lynn's lies. Grasp that Chrissy is just a detached observer in his 'report' on the news.

But the reality is that it's Chris who recruited Cornel for that nomination.

It's Chris who planned to be his running mate -- but Chris' wife said no at the last minute.

That's not in the 'report,' is it?

A backroom deal took place and Chrissy, in 'reporting' on the news, leaves all that out.

Again, he didn't expect to get caught or, rather, outed. He thought he'd get away with lying yet again. What happened though was Cornel made a huge mistake -- huge -- and wasn't ready to sink with the ship by himself. Or, if we're being charitable, maybe he just saw Chrissy as a life preserver.

Floatation device or not, Chrissy lied. If he'd done that at THE NEW YORK TIMES, he would have been fired on the spot. If this column had been published by THE NEW YORK TIMES when he worked there, he would be fired. Not warned. Not written up. Fired.

You do not get away, as a journalist, with writing about a campaign that you instigated when you're not revealing that detail.

Why didn't he?

Is it somehow damaging?

Doesn't let him present himself as just an observer, no, but he flat out lied.

Robert Scheer is a huge disappointment and has been to most on the left since at least the mid-seventies -- which is why when THE LOS ANGELES TIMES dumped him, no other paper came forward. Then he had TRUTH DIG until he didn't. Now he has SCHEER POST -- however much longer that lasts. It shouldn't last a day more since it won't correct Chrissy's lies -- there will be no needed note such as :"We were disappointed to learn -- after publishing this column -- that Mr. Hedges was actually active in seeking and securing the presidential nomination for Cornel West. At SCHEER POST, we take disclosure seriously and would never knowingly attempt to deceive our readers."

Oh, well, Chris survived his plagiarism scandal, he'll probably survive this as well.

My favorite quote in that article about Chris plagiarized for a piece on poverty that he submitted to HARPER'S? The HARPER'S fact checker explaining, "Hedges not only used another journalist’s quotes, but he used them in first-person scenes, claiming he himself gathered the quotes. It was one of the worst things I’d ever seen as a fact-checker at the magazine. And it was endemic throughout the piece."

Remember that when you're reading Chrissy Lynn or when you see him on a YOUTUBE program. Remember that he's a liar. Not just Iraq, not just Cornel but a serial liar in print. Over and over.

ONE MORE TIME, GEORGE SANTOS -- WHO LIED ABOUT BEING JEWISH, LIED ABOUT BEING BI-RADICAL, LIED ABOUT PRODUCING SPIDER-MAN ON BROADWAY, WHO LIED ABOUT HIS MOTHER AND 9/11, WHO LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING -- STATED, "WE MUST PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES."

Cornel wanted to make an announcement this week that he would be the Green Party's presidential nominee.

That is not happening.

But he needed it to.

Why?

Because he's an idiot on the world stage. People don't take him seriously as it is and now it's even worse.

How so?

He's not the People's Party nominee. He doesn't want to be because their racism, their sexism and everything else has come up since he was announced as their nominee.

Now to walk away from a political party that just made you their nominee a week ago? That's embarrassing.

It goes to how unserious you are. "Wait, you took the nomination without doing any work to research the party you were going to be representing?"

Yes.

Yes, that's exactly what he did.

He's that damn stupid and/or that damn vain.

And that goes to judgment and clearly he has none. He's not fit to be president.

'Uh, I didn't know, I didn't really understand them.'

Then why the hell did you announce you would be their presidential candidate?

In the world of YOUTUBE whoring, that goes unasked apparently. But you better believe that in the real world -- especially in the press -- Cornel West is now a joke.

He looks like the idiot supreme.

He wouldn't have looked a lot smarter if he could have announced he was the Green Party nominee but he would have had a 'happy ending' to his embarrassment and he could try to steer your focus to that and not to the fact that he, an African-American man, was fronting a racist political party.

YOUTUBERS need to find their spines and their brains and need to grasp that their role is to inform, not to tell anyone how to vote, to inform.

As I've said, I intend to vote in 2024 for the Democratic Party nominee -- whether it's Joe or Marianne or Robert. Or someone who hasn't announced yet. That's what I intend to do. I have my reasons and may share them later on. I may not. If Robert does an independent run, I will seriously consider voting for him. I know Robert and I know he's serious about this. I've known him for many, many years. I would be hesitant to vote for Marianne if she ran without the Democratic Party because I've also known her for many years. But Robert's character is such that I would consider supporting him if he ran as an independent. He also has the money to do so.

I am not opposed to voting third party or independent candidates. As I've noted, I voted Green in 2008 (Cynthia McKinney).

But you need to use your vote how you want to use your vote. It's not wasted if you're doing what you want. That includes if what you want is not to vote. That includes if you vote for someone I don't like -- even a hate merchant. November 2024 rolls around and you use your vote the way you want to, that's all you need to do.

B-b-but two months later!!!! Unless you're psychic, you can't predict the future. You can only determine how to use your vote with the knowledge you have leading up to the election.

Again, don't let people bully you. When they do that, when they use and misuse you, they are showing contempt for you.

They're just con artists. Grasp that. Grasp that any real journalist looking at Cornel West should be asking him: "WTF! You're a 70-year-old man who took the nomination from a political party you're now trying to run from because you're embarrassed that they're racists with a record of doing nothing except for sexually harassing women?" Instead, they're saying "Dr West" in hushed voices and bowed heads -- as though what has just happened before everyone's eyes did not take place. They're crazy.

Not every YOUTUBER was producing fan-boi content over the weekend. For example, the vanity run of Cornel West was seriously addressed.

What? You were expecting two White boys b.s.-ing about things they know nothing about? No, we're not noting that VANGUARD nonsense. For an outlet that attacks Jimmy Dore constantly, they have no self-awareness, do they? Joan Walsh is one voice at THE NATION. She's not a voice that I value and I didn't value her at SALON. But the boys of THE VANGUARD are a lot like Joan Walsh. The reason I have no use for Joan is that she generally doesn't know what she's talking about. In the '00s, we corrected her nicely -- Ava and I -- when, at SALON, she confused Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris. It's not easy to do that today and it wasn't easy to do that back then.

So I don't like little boy idiots who see their life's goal to be defending Krystal Ball -- a far worse figure than Joan Walsh -- or telling lies about Cornel's great big opportunities. The Green Party is not going to gift the nomination to Cornel West. Nor are they likely to allow him to share the nomination because they do not want to be confused -- pay attention -- with a GUTTER PARTY and that's all The People's Party is. Scandals about where the money went, scandals about sexual assault, scandals about this, Tweets and efforts to be more right-wing-than-FOX "NEWS."

The Green Party has spent years on ballot access. It is very unlikely that the political party will decide to destroy their work and their image by getting in bed with a political party with so many issues. Gavin and Zac need to learn. They need to have an education.

You dumb idiots who refuse to do the work required and get on board with Chrissy Lynn -- or for that matter with Oliver Stone and his lobbying for the nuclear industry. Your stupidity hurts us, grasp that.

Now if you knew your history, you'd know that the Green Party was offered a candidate before. No, I'm not talking about the wrestler. And the candidate was a bigger name than the wrestler and Cornel combined. And the Green Party said? No.

Because they are independent party. On the wrestler, he wanted the party to gift him with the nomination. The Green Party said "no." You want their nomination, you campaign for their nomination.

Unlike The People's Party, they're a real political party.

Now The People's Party, please remember, was, like Max Blumenthal's wife, part of that hideous February action where they got on stage with right wingers who were racists and who were homophobic and transphobic.

Do you remember the response from The Green Party? Probably not because YOUTUBERS don't do a lot of homework. But we posted it here. And their response was they were not taking part in that 'action.' They issued a statement to make that clear. They would not go onstage with right-wingers (and pedophiles -- remember The People's Party planned to have that convicted pedophile on stage as well).

So, no, you stupid hacks, the Green Party is not gifting Cornel with their nomination.

Staying with the topic of Republican failures, Ron DeSantis. Jonathan Turley's crush just can't get it together to save his life or his falterning campaign for president. Madison Hall (BUSINESS INSIDER) explains:

In December 2022, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis led all listed Republican candidates in a Monmouth University poll.
At the time, DeSantis had 39% support compared to President Donald Trump's 26%.
New polling from Monmouth University shows that Trump now leads the governor by 24 percentage points.

Hall also reports:

Republican Rep. Greg Steube claimed on a podcast that presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis threatened to primary members of Congress if they endorsed former President Donald Trump over him.

Steube, who represents Florida's 17th Congressional District, relitigated his apparent feelings of contempt for Florida's governor on Monday on Donald Trump Jr.'s podcast, "Triggered With Don Jr." The congressman, who previously endorsed Trump for president, said in April that DeSantis never responded to Steube's attempts to discuss political issues.

And in that article, you can find a photo of his man-wife Casey. She really does look like a man in drag. And as Ron goes after African-Americans and LGBTQ+ members, let's remember he's targeting families and individuals and, no, this nonsense of 'family is off limits' just doesn't damn well apply. He's destroying lives in Florida so it's not at all out of bounds to note that the person he crawls into bed with has the body of a man -- including the adam's apple.

His hate has consequences. Joshua S. Mackey (INTO) notes:

More anti-LGBTQ+ legislation continues to arise within the United States and conservative pressure is starting to dictate what students learn within public education. Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law, ushered in by Governor Ron DeSantis, has already impacted school curricula within the Sunshine State, prohibiting education surrounding gender and identity, including LGBTQ+ education.

An increase in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation means a decrease in education around gender, identity, and sexual health resources for LGBTQ+ students. Unfortunately, this could change the downward trend of HIV infection rates for young gay and bisexual men. Research shows that proper sexual education exponentially decreases HIV infection rates. However, if students in public schools lose access to sexual education resources, infection rates could increase, undoing the work implemented by effective public health measures.

According to the CDC, 1.2 million people are living with HIV in this country. And 1 in 8 people aren’t aware that they have the illness and HIV status awareness is low within younger demographics, representing 15% of new infections in 2021. So much progress has been made, but it’s evident that the GOP are nowhere near aware of the massive ramifications, including for queer health, that their legislation could have.

Now we should remember these crazy and crazed hate merchants are defending children. That's what they say anyway.

Daniel Villareal (LGBTQ NATION) reports:

Jared Michael Boyce, a recently arrested member of the white nationalist anti-LGBTQ+ organization Patriot Front, has pleaded guilty to possessing images of child sexual abuse. He had previously accused LGBTQ+ people of “grooming children” and advocated for hanging pedophiles and Jews.

FBI agents reportedly found 22 images of child pornography on Boyce’s phone. The images included “children from toddlers to prepubescents performing sexual acts” and also minors “exposing their genitals,” court documents said.

Boyce admitted that the images belonged to him, the court documents added. He also told investigators that he had had “sexually-themed conversations about children” in an online chatroom, had transferred images of child sex abuse, and had sent an explicit photo of his genitals to a 16-year-old girl.

He pleaded guilty to nine felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and a misdemeanor of dealing in harmful material to a minor, KSL-TV reported. Though he faced up to 30 years in prison for the crimes, on Tuesday, a judge sentenced him only to a year in prison and three years probation.

Boyce was one of 31 Patriot Front members arrested last June for plotting a riot at a northern Idaho Pride event. The group had crowded into a U-Haul truck that was pulled over by police. The white supremacists were clad in identical khaki pants, dark blue shirts and masks and carried homemade riot gear. They were charged with misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to riot.

These are the children of professor and professional transphobe Jonathan Turley, the children of Turley breast fed by Ron DeSantis who had to breast feed them because his wife's boobs were too small.
