That appears to be the motto of the Chump administration and, by server, they mean public servants who are not allowed to take personal gifts nor to profit from their government positions. Hasn't stopped them one bit.

Trashy Garbage, as Trina long ago dubbed her, is only one member of the Chump Crime Syndicate. Carl Gibson notes another criminal scheme:

President Donald Trump is continuing to blur the lines between the federal government and his private businesses as his family rolls out its latest cryptocurrency project.

The New York Times reported that Trump's son, Eric, recently appeared at a conference in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) alongside Zach Witkoff, who is a co-founder of the Trump family's World Liberty Financial cryptocurrency company. The two announced that the government of Abu Dhabi (the capital city of the UAE) was investing $2 billion into the Binance cryptocurrency exchange — the largest crypto market by volume — using a so-called "stablecoin" (a cryptocurrency designed to have a constant value close to $1) developed by the Trump family's company.
According to the Times, that deal is likely to net the Trump family a profit in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The Times' David Yaffe-Bellany wrote that World Liberty's work has "created conflicts of interest with no precedent in modern U.S. history" given the amount of foreign investors typically barred from making conventional political contributions chipping in large sums of money.

Justin Sun — a Chinese-born billionaire who runs the TRON cryptocurrency exchange — is a top investor in World Liberty. After Trump was elected, he bought $75 million worth of World Liberty's $WLFI coins. That purchase came after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accused him of manipulating one of TRON's cryptocurrencies. The Times reported that the SEC then asked a judge to pause the investigation into Sun after Trump was reelected last year.

Quid pro quo. Tit for tat. Pay to play. Call it what you will, it's putting democracy up for sale and it's not just unethical, it's illegal. Nikki McCann Ramirez (ROLLING STONE) offers another example:

Donald Trump and his family continue to cash in on cryptocurrency from entities looking to curry influence with the president and his administration - which is simultaneously working to deregulate the industry.

At a crypto conference in the United Arab Emirates, Eric Trump and Zach Witkoff announced that the Trump family's stablecoin - World Liberty Financial's USD1 - will be the vehicle for the state-backed Emirati investment firm MGX to invest $2 billion into Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange.

The announcement comes weeks after Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao claimed he had "no discussions of a Binance US deal with … well, anyone."

The transaction comes with a host of ethical baggage. For starters, World Liberty Financial (a decentralized exchange "inspired by Donald J. Trump"), is co-created and managed by Trump's family - as well as that of Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who has been functioning like a shadow secretary of State -and will now have direct financial ties to Binance, which in November 2023 pleaded guilty to financial crimes including money laundering, sanctions violations, and unlicensed operations. The exchange was slapped with heavy restrictions on operations within the U.S. On top of that, the transaction involves a foreign government with clear political interests in the United States. Much like Trump used his hotels as vehicles for foreign entities to court favor with the presidency, the signal being broadcast by World Liberty Financial is that the Trumps are open to investments.

Chump and his cabinet are betraying the country to line their own pockets. This is far worse than The Teapot Dome Scandal. It is The Chump Criminal Syndicate. Josh Meyer (USA TODAY) notes:

Just two of the cryptocurrency investments owned by Trump-affiliated entities have made at least $300 million in trading fees alone on sales of his meme coin and other digital currency since January, according to ethics watchdogs, Democratic lawmakers, crypto analysts and other experts.

Greater potential profits lie in the Trump entities’ stake in the value of the meme coin and their other Trump-themed crypto investments, these analysts and other experts say.

Last week, another of the Trump family's crypto ventures, World Liberty Financial, announced that one of its digital coins is being used by an Abu Dhabi investment firm for a $2 billion investment in cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Democratic lawmakers and crypto analysts said the deal was a conflict of interest that could earn World Liberty at least $27 million per year.

Meanwhile, Trump's administration has loosened regulation of the cryptocurrency industry and dismantled a Justice Department unit targeting crypto fraud.

Crypto isn’t Trump's only source of funds since returning to office. The president profits from real estate, his Truth Social platform and a range of branded merchandise, experts say.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, ranking Democrat on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, told USA TODAY he’s launching an investigation into Trump’s profits as president.

Robert Reich takes on the corruption of the Chump Criminal Syndicate and the media's lackadaisical manner of portraying it:

Words matter. When the media points out Trump’s “potential conflicts of interest,” as it has in recent days when describing Trump’s growing crypto enterprise, it doesn’t come close to telling the public what’s really going on — unprecedented paybacks and self-dealing by the president of the United States, using his office to make billions.

The correct word is corruption.

Trump holds a private dinner at the White House for major speculators who purchase his new cryptocurrency, earning him and his allies $900,000 in trading fees in just under two days. One senator calls this “the most brazenly corrupt thing a president has ever done.”

He’s doing other things as brazen if not more brazenly corrupt.

He collects a cut of sales from a cryptocurrency marketed with his likeness.

He promotes Teslas on the White House driveway on behalf of a multibillionaire who spent a quarter of a billion backing him during the 2024 election.

He posts news-making announcements on Truth Social, the company in which he and his family own a significant stake. Truth Social thereby becomes the world’s semi-official means of knowing Trump’s thinking and policies.

HOGG WAS ELECTED EARLIER THIS YEAR AS ONE OF FIVE VICE CHAIRS OF THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE AND THAT POST REQUIRES NEUTRALITY IN PRIMARIES. BUT HOGG THINKS HE CAN POUR 20 MILLION DOLLARS TO PRIMARY CERTAIN INCUMBENT DEMOCRATS.

THAT IS WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO. THAT AND WASTING 20 MILLION DOLLARS IN MID-TERM LEAD UPS TO GO TO WAR AGAINST OTHER DEMOCRATS INSTEAD OF USING THAT 20 MILLION TO FUND DEMOCRATS IN GENERAL ELECTIONS.

Let's start with Pete Hegseth. The unqualified Secretary of Defense is in the news for so many things. Yesterday afternoon, a friend at CBS NEWS called me about this report by Jennifer Jacobs:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently ordered modifications to a room next to the Pentagon press briefing room to retrofit it with a makeup studio that can be used to prepare for television appearances, multiple sources told CBS News.

The price tag for the project was several thousand dollars, according to two of the sources, at a time when the administration is searching for cost-cutting measures.

My CBS friend joked that Hegseth was "wounded" by comments in yesterday's snapshot about his looks. I doubt it. But, sadly for him, I actually held back on that. As soon as he returns to wearing his make up on camera I may have to review his looks again. This time not just because that nose requires much more comment (as does the chin) and not also because I'm interested to see how much work is required to make him Maybelline Cover Girl camera ready -- no, mainly because that vanity is something that the US taxpayer is now paying to preserve.

Hegseth continues to lie and he's the spawn of a liar (Chump) so it may get confusing. But let's note one thing clearly. This was his second leak problem, his second breach of national security. Shouldn't he be explaining right now why, when the first one was revealed weeks ago, he gave no heads up about this latest example?

He knew during the last scandal, as he lied repeatedly, that he had done another chat on a non-secure device, using the risky Signal app, and he never said, "Let me explain, there's something else."

Maybe he didn't know?

I guess that's possible. Maybe he got blotto drunk, passed out and can't remember anything on the morning after?

If he wants to offer that excuse, I'm willing to consider it. But right now, he's just lying. Gustaf Kilander (INDEPENDENT) calls it like it is, "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did use his personal phone to send sensitive information to two group chats on the messaging app Signal, three officials have told NBC News." Colby Hall (MEDIAITE) notes, "Hegseth is reportedly troubled by the alleged 'total chaos' reported by his former spokesperson and is “in full paranoia, back-against-the-wall mode,” according to a source familiar with Hegseth’s state of mind over the last month, per CNN’s report." Morgan Music (LATIN TIMES) notes the Hegseth hypocrisy of it all:

In a 2016 Fox News segment, Hegseth harshly criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over her handling of classified emails, declaring that "any security professional military government or otherwise would be fired on the spot for this type of conduct and criminally prosecuted for being so reckless."

"The fact that she wouldn't be held accountable for this blows the mind of anyone who's held our nation's secrets dear, who's had a top secret clearance—like I have," Hegseth continued. "Who know that even one hiccup causes a problem."

Now, Hegseth himself is accused of reckless conduct with the nation's secrets, reportedly sending sensitive information about US airstrikes in Yemen to Signal group chats.

So what say you now, Hegseth? You've mishandled sensitive information -- that's putting it nicely -- so why shouldn't you be fired? And don't give us a garbage reply like, "Hillary wasn't!" Hillary had already stepped down as Secretary of State in February of 2013 -- three years prior to the e-mail scandal emerging. When Hegseth was screaming she should be fired, she had, again, been out of that job for three years.

Meanwhile, Hegseth still holds his job. So what does Hegseth think should be done with him? Hand him another bottle of beer? Nod while he exclaims, "I'll drink to that!"

Jack Hobbs (THE MIRROR) reports, "White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt took to the podium in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room on Tuesday for her regular briefing, where she reaffirmed the White House's backing of the Secretary of Defense."

Yes, thus far the White House is standing by Hegseth.

That is correct.

Donald Chump is shirking his duty.

Hegseth should have been fired immediately. Now we have a second breach of security and Chump's waiting to see if it'll blow over.

The mid-terms aren't going to blow over. If Dems end up with control of just one house of Congress -- and they may get two -- look for impeachment charges.

And they'll be right to impeach and to remove from office. Nobody wants JD Vance as president but Donald's committing a high crime right now.

The leaking of classified information is a high crime.

Instead of addressing it, Chump is ignoring it. That's dereliction of duty.

Susan Rice was on Lawrence O'Donnell's MSNBC show last night. (Note, I'm beyond sick this morning. I don't see the video at MSNBC, I was sick last night. If it wasn't Lawrence, I'll note it tomorrow but as I'm remembering it, it was Lawrence's show. ADDED: It wasn't Lawrence, it was Brian Tyler Cohen's YOUTUBE program, we'll note it in tomorrow's snapshot.]) Details of an impending military strike are top secret. There's no debating this. And Hegseth's sharing this on two unsecure chats. This outrageous. She was the National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2017. She knows what she's talking about. She laid it out very cleary. He broke the rules.

That's it when you're President of the United States. You make the call, you fire the idiot.

Chump refusing to do so. He's dilly dallied for weeks now demonstrating that he lacks the strength of character to do the most basic tasks to ensure the safety of this country.

This is impeachable. This is not minor.

Yet, day after day, he refuses to address this situation.

Other countries are aware of this, it's on their news casts as well.

And other countries are far less likely to share important information with us if they have to worry that Gossip Girl Hegseth might let it slip in a group chat. That's harming us right now. When Hegseth's loose lips flutter, that also threatens the people tasked with carrying out a mission -- such as the bombing of Yemen.

There is no excuse for Hegseth's actions and he should be fired immediately; however, as Chump continues to delay that, we need to expand the spotlight so it includes Donald because he's refusing to do what a president needs to do which is fire Hegseth.

Chump's refusal to address this is a high crime. It puts the entire country at risk, it endangers the military personnel he is tasking with missions and it harms our relationships with other countries who share classified information -- or used to share -- with us.

Elon Musk, who owns one of the world's biggest social media platforms, has spent many millions of dollars on politics as he helps Donald Trump slash the federal government and continue the administration's attack on immigrants. Now, Musk is saying that he is losing the "propaganda war," potentially through his own choices.

Recent polling shows people don't like Musk. On Friday, numbers pundit Nate Silver posted on X that Musk's popularity is at negative 14 points. Trump, for comparison, is at negative 5 points. The chart shows that Musk's popularity markedly decreased when Trump took office, with 39.6 percent of respondents viewing him favorably as of this month.

He's a racist and people are learning that. He's not 'an' American. He's a citizen of South Africa. He was born there. He's citizen of Canada (though some are reviewing that status) via his mother. He applied for US citizenship after fleeing South Africa when White racism crumbled as apartheid collapsed. Per his brother, he broke visa rules in the US which would mean his US citizenship was fraudulent and should be revoked.

They also hate him because he's a disgusting parent. That's obvious by (a) the treatment of his daughter and his attack on her and other trans people, (b) his 'spreading his seed' and (c) that ridiculous and appalling Oval Office moment where, when his young son wasn't on his shoulders, he was pressed against Musk's crotch. That was really disgusting and it's amazing that people wanted to look the other way.

I waited for others to comment. None did. I thought, well, it's just me that finds that shocking and that's because I was raped as a child in elementary school (by the man who kidnapped me). But this week, I started asking other people about that moment. It's not normal. There's nothing normal about Alien Musk. And a grown man should have pushed the kid away from his crotch. But somehow it just seemed normal to Musk. Wonder why that is?

I don't live in a world where it's normal for a child's head to rub against it's father crotch over and over. I don't live in a world where a father wouldn't stop the kid from doing that. That's not me blaming the child. The behavior I witness in that video seems taught and modeled. So I don't blame the child.

I do blame the adult parent who clearly has boundary issues. And I do blame the occupant of that office who invited Musk in and just sat there while Musk all but humped his own child.

What kind of perversions are taking place in the Oval Office that the above in the video seemed normal?
