THIS JUST IN! HE SAID 'HELL!'

BULLY BOY PRESS CEDRIC'S BIG MIX & THOMAS FRIEDMAN IS A GREAT MAN & ANN'S MEGA DUB  -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

PROFESSIONAL ARMPIECE JARED KUSHNER WHINED TODAY ABOUT "MY POOR MOM" WHO WAS WORRIED HE WOULD BE ARRESTED.  FOR SERVICING MEN IN PUBLIC BATHROOMS?  NO.  BUT SENATE MAJORITY LEADER CHUCK SCHUMER TOLD SOMEBODY WHO TOLD SOMEBODY WHO TOLD SOMEBODY ELSE WHO TOLD JARED'S MOTHER THAT CHUCK SAID JARED'S GOING TO JAIL!

"NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE," SAID SENATOR SCHUMER WHEN ASKED BY THESE REPORTERS -- MUST CREDIT  .

"I SAID 'HELL.'  I SAID 'JARED'S GOING TO HELL'."

WHEN WE GOT BACK WITH KUSHNER AND REPEATED WHAT SCHUMER HAD TOLD US, A CHAGRINED JARED SHOOK HIS HEAD IN EMBARRASSMENT WHILE ADMITTING, "I CAN'T ARGUE WITH HIM THERE."

FROM THE TCI WIRE

Allies of former President Donald Trump such as Steve Bannon had encouraged Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to enter the 2024 presidential race as a means to harm the prospects of President Joe Biden.
However, Salon's Amanda Marcotte writes that this move now looks like it could backfire after RFK Jr. announced his own independent candidacy for the presidency that could siphon votes away from Trump.

I don't  have time for this but a number of e-mails came in from people fretting over the above.

No one knows what the impact would be.

The guess Amanda's making does not strike me as an educated guess.

Allowing for the reality that primary voters are more passionate than general election voters, even allowing for that, I don't see how you can make any kind of educated guess at this point.  If you had to, I don't think you'd say, "He'll pull from Trump!"  Indictments haven't pulled from Donald significantly.  People turning on him and ratting him out has not resulted in the grand walk away.

If I had to make a guess right now, gun to the head, Junior's pulling from Joe if he pulls from anybody.

There is no polling -- it's being done right now -- available yet.  Despite this idiot saying Junior's at 14.5% -- no, he's not.  He might be higher, he might be lower.  But that number was before he declared himself an independent.

You see people who want to trick and lie.

Chris Christie.

I have not promoted him here.  If he's made a point worth noting, I've noted it here -- including his not knowing what the question was in a debate.  There are some in the center on the left who are promoting him, elevating him.  Some may be sincere.  Some are not.  They're inflating him to make it look like he's doing better than he is.  To hurt the Republican Party.

I was oblivious to this sort of trick until 1992.  That's when it was pointed out to me by a state official that Dems would carry our state (California) and if I wanted to do some real damage, I should vote in the Republican Party and vote for Pat Buchanan.  The homophobe?  No, forget it, I said.  But, I was told, it would look bad for Poppy Bush who was running for re-election if Pat Buchanan got significant numbers.  Sorry, not in the mood to play that game -- or to vote for Pat Buchanan.  But a lot of other people I knew were willing to play that game.

But, especially in state's with open primaries, these games are played all the time.

Point: Junior is not as popular as some think he is.

Or was.

Some of his popularity, when he was a candidate for the Democratic Party, was right-wingers who wanted to make Joe Biden look weak and vulnerable.  Now that he's a potential challenger to the GOP, some of his cheerleaders are going to fall away.  (Didn't Kim Iverson already?)

He just announced this week that he was now an independent.    Polling is taking place on that right now.  We may have some results by Monday.  It will be interesting to see the results on that.  But right now, without that data, no one knows anything -- including me.

On the topic of Junior, I'm not a fan of Seth Meyers work (this goes back to when he blamed the collapse of the housing bubble on low income African-American home owners -- he did 'jokes' about it on WEEKEND UPDATE -- and his sick crush on Rudy G) but I will applaud him for the joke below:

Seth Meyers bashed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his vaccine lies and longshot presidential bid in one fell swoop.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced yesterday he is dropping out of the Democratic primary and running for president as an independent,” Meyers said on “Late Night” Tuesday. “Cos’ like his vax card says, he never had a shot.”

THIS JUST IN! DONALD TRUMP SPILLS!

BULLY BOY PRESS CEDRIC'S BIG MIX & THOMAS FRIEDMAN IS A GREAT MAN & ANN'S MEGA DUB  -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

DONALD TRUMP APPEARS TO HAVE OFFICIALLY LOST IT AND GONE MAD.  PRIOR TO APPEARING IN THE MANHATTAN COURT TODAY BEFORE JUDGE ARTHUR ENGORON, DER DONALD DISMISSED ENGORON AS A "ROGUE JUDGE." IT'S NOT GOOD TO INSULT THE JUDGE PUBLICLY ON THE DAY OF YOUR HEARING -- ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU WAIVED YOUR RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY -- MEANING THE JUDGE HE IS INSULTING IS THE ONE WHO WILL DETERMINE HIS GUILT.

HOWEVER, WHAT HAS EVEN MORE PEOPLE QUESTIONING HIS SANITY WAS DER DONALD'S DECLARATION OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL LETITIA JAMES, "WE HAVE A RACIST ATTORNEY GENERAL WHO IS A HORROR SHOW! SHE RAN ON THE BASIS OF SHE WAS GOING TO GET TRUMP BEFORE SHE EVEN KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT ME!"

WHEN THESE REPORTERS APPROACHED ALINA HABBA, DER DONALD'S ATTORNEY, REQUESTING WHETHER OR NOT WE COULD SPEAK TO HER CLIENT, SHE RESPONDED NOT LOOKING UP FROM HER CELL PHONE AS SHE PLAYED 'FREE FIRE,' "SURE, GO AHEAD, DO WHAT YOU WANT, I GET PAID WHETHER WE WIN OR LOSE."

Q: SO, DER DONALD, YOU SAID THE A.G. WAS "A HORROR SHOW" WHO "RAN ON THE BASIS OF SHE WAS GOING TO GET TRUMP" -- YOU ARE TRUMP.  DO YOU LIKE REFERRING TO YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON?

DER DONALD: IN THE THIRD, IN THE FOURTH, IN THE FIFTH, IN THE SIXTH!  I AM HUGE.  REALLY BIG.  NO ONE IS AS BIG AS ME.

Q: WELL WE DON'T REALLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT.  WE'RE WORRIED THAT YOU'VE LOST IT AND MAY NEED TO BE INSTITUTIONALIZED.

DER DONALD: NEVER!  WHO SAID THAT!  MALANIA?  SHE GOT PAID LAST WEEK TO SHUT UP.

Q: WELL YOU MADE A STATEMENT VERY UNLIKE YOURSELF.  YOU SAID THIS A.G. DIDN'T KNOW "ANYTHING ABOUT ME!"

DER DONALD: OH, THAT WAS A MISTAKE.  I MUST HAVE HAD A FEVER TO SAY SOMETHING SO DELUSIONAL.

Q: IT SEEMED UNCHARACTERISTIC OF YOU.

DER DONALD: I DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY THAT.  OF COURSE SHE KNEW OF ME!  EVERYONE DOES!  I AM HUGE!  EVERYONE KNOWS WHO I AM!  THEY'VE KNOWN WHO I AM FOR YEARS, DECADES!  I AM THE MOST FAMOUS PERSON ON THE EARTH!  AND THE MOST HANDSOME!

Q: ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH YOUR LOOKS?  MOST 77 YEAR OLD MEN DO NOT WEAR MAKE UP, AFTER ALL.

DER DONALD:  MOST MEN -- OF ANY AGE -- ARE NOT AS PHYSICALLY PERFECT OR GOOD LOOKING AS TRUMP.  MAKE UP ENHANCES ALL THAT I ALREADY HAVE.

Q: AND YOU APPLY IT YOURSELF, WE ARE TOLD.

DER DONALD: THAT IS CORRECT.  IF YOU'RE A REAL STAR, THAT'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.  JUST LIKE JOAN CRAWFORD AND BETTE DAVIS BEFORE ME, I ONLY LET THE MAKEUP MEN WORK ON MY EYE LASHES, I HANDLE THE REST.

FROM THE TCI WIRE:

From one empty politician (Barbara Lee) to another (Ron DeSantis), Florida's governor is not being greeted warmly.  Manasa Gogineni (THE CALIFORNIAN) reports:

GOP candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a highly controversial trip to Salinas today, which was preceded by community protests on Sunday and Wednesday, a Salinas City Council resolution denouncing his visit, and widespread disapproval from county supervisorsorganizations and Salinas residents across social media.

Executives of big agriculture companies from Taylor Farms to Mission Produce hosted a private fundraising brunch for DeSantis this morning ahead of his bid for the White House, with tickets selling at $3,300 a seat.

DeSantis has gained notoriety for supporting policies that harm farmworkers and make it more difficult for undocumented immigrants to gain employment.

Salinas has a large population of immigrant and migrant farm workers, which agriculture companies have historically failed to protect from voter intimidation, COVID-19, wildfires and harmful pesticides (which are used in fields near local schools despite being linked to leukemia in children).

Ben Blanchet (HUFFINGTON POST) notes the response to Ronald wasn't that much warmer on FOX NEWS:

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo kept it frank with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over former President Donald Trump’s big lead against him in national polls. (You can check out the interview in the clip below)

The Florida governor has trailed Trump the entire year in an average of national polls and, as of Sunday, is behind the GOP frontrunner by over 40 percentage points, according to polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight.

“Let’s face it, governor, Donald Trump is ahead of you by a significant margin,” Bartiromo told DeSantis during his appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“I think the last poll was 52 percent, above, right now, for Trump. How are you going to cut into Trump’s lead? What truly is your path to victory?”

He has none.  Turns out, when you attack women, African-Americans, immigrants, teachers, professors and the LGBTQ+ community, you are left with very few that can support you.  Oops, almost forgot his war on DISNEY.  Molly Sprayregen (LGBTQ NATION) explains:

The Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis-appointed board overseeing Disney World’s tax district has officially approved a $4.5 million budget for the year to fund the anti-LGBTQ+ governor’s legal battle with the entertainment company.

The board approved an overall $194.5 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year, setting aside an anticipated $4.5 million in legal fees for DeSantis to defend himself against Disney. According to the Washington Post, taxpayers have already footed the $1.9 million that has been spent on lawyers for the case this year.

Yeah, that's not good business.  Mike Schneider (AP) reports on Ronald's war on DISNEY:

The Florida governor asked that the company’s First Amendment lawsuit against him be tossed from federal court, and Disney demanded emails, texts and other communications from the governor’s office in a separate state court lawsuit originally brought by DeSantis appointees of Walt Disney World’s governing district.

The legal filings marked an escalation in the battle between the entertainment giant and DeSantis, a candidate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. The confrontation started last year when Disney publicly opposed a state law banning classroom lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades, and DeSantis retaliated by taking over the governing district that provides municipal services for the 25,000-acre (10,117-hectare) Disney World theme park resort in Florida.

[. . .]

Disney also sent a notice to DeSantis’ office demanding internal communications, including text messages and emails, and documents regarding the district’s comprehensive plan, the development agreements and the legislation that shifted control of the district to DeSantis. The notice said a subpoena would be issued requiring the governor’s office to turn over the materials to Disney’s attorneys by Oct. 27.

Ronald's like a cock roach, he skirts off when caught in the light of day.   As Tori Otten (THE NEW REPUBLIC) notes, Ronald's wasting millions of tax dollars on lawsuits:

In reality, DeSantis has spent more than $17 million defending his terrible laws in court since he took office. As a result, the state budget for 2023 includes a $15.8 million allotment just to defend his policies.

That allotment includes $6 million for the governor’s office, compared to just $1.6 million last year. The State University System Board of Governors received an extra $2 million to defend DeSantis’s “Stop Woke” Act, and the attorney general’s office got an additional $5 million to defend the state’s backward Covid-19 vaccination policies.

The extra money for legal costs means that DeSantis is able to hire outside (and much more expensive) lawyers to defend his policies. So far, his administration has spent the most defending laws restricting voting rights, transgender health care, and academic freedom. But despite his best efforts, and his hefty coffers, most of those laws were still overturned.

IS THAT AN ADMISSION, FINALLY, THAT HE DID HARASS ANITA HILL?

"OF COURSE I DID, FOOL!"  CROOKED CLARENCE BOASTED.  "IT'S HOW I FIRST LEARNED TO LIE TO THE SENATE AND THE COUNTRY.  DO WHAT YOU WANT AND THEN LIE AND YOU GET AWAY WITH IT.  IT HAS WORKED FOR ME OVER AND OVER."

WORKED FOR YOU?  YOU DID END UP WITH THAT UGLY WOMAN GINNI THOMAS.  THAT CAN'T BE MUCH OF A SUCCESS OR HAPPY ENDING.

"IF YOU THINK SHE'S UGLY NOW, IMAGINE HOW BAD SHE'D LOOKED IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE ALL THAT MONEY TO SPEND ON MAKE UP AND CLOTHES! HELL, MR. FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Update time.  In Thursday's snapshot, we noted that US Senator Bob Menendez was yet again under federal investigation.  Friday, after the snapshot posted, the Justice Dept announced Menendez was indicted (we posted the press release here).  Kevin Reed (WSWS) reports:

New Jersey Democratic Senator Robert Menendez was indicted on Friday by federal prosecutors in New York, along with four others, including his wife Nadine Menendez, on multiple charges of bribery.

The US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York brought the charges against Menendez, a senior senator and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, for using “his official position” to provide favors to three businessmen and the Egyptian government “in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars” for himself and his wife which included “gold bars, cash and a luxury convertible.”

In a Department of Justice press release Friday, US Attorney Damian Williams said a grand jury charged the Menendezes for engaging in “a corrupt relationship” with New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes and unnamed Egyptian government officials between 2018 and 2022.

Williams’ statement went on to say the businessmen “collectively paid hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes, including cash, gold, a Mercedes Benz, and other things of value—in exchange for Senator Menendez agreeing to use his power and influence to protect and enrich those businessmen and to benefit the Government of Egypt.”

Responding eight hours after the indictment, leading Democratic Party leaders in the Garden State, including New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, called on Menendez to resign. Murphy said the allegations are “deeply disturbing” and “implicate national security and the integrity of our criminal justice system.” The governor continued, saying the “facts are so serious they compromise the ability of Senator Menendez to effectively represent the people of our state.”

Clearly, the stench of corruption surrounding the longtime federal legislator from New Jersey—Menendez held a seat in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2006 and has been in the Senate since 2006—was so strong that the Department of Justice was forced to shut him down.

Senator Menendez was implicated in ethics violations in 2006 for renting property he owned to a non-profit agency that received federal funding. In 2015, he was indicted on bribery and fraud charges involving requests that the State Department pressure the Dominican Republic to enforce a government contract that benefited a Florida businessman, who gave the senator money and paid for his expensive vacation trips on a private jet.

At present, the senator is refusing calls to resign from his seat.  He has announced a press conference later today.  He is not expected to announce his resignation but instead to announce that he is seeking re-election.  41-year-old House Rep Andy Kim announced over the weekend that he was going to run against the 69-year-old (and indicted) Menendez for the Senate seat:

In other news, "Stop killing Kurds!"  In Australia, a demonstration on Saturday included that chant.

A protest on September 23 called on the Australian government to break its silence about Turkey's ongoing war on the Kurds and its recent deadly attacks in the south Kurdistan region of Iraq.

On September 18, three peshmerga (Kurdish freedom fighters) affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) were killed and three others wounded in a drone strike on an airport in Sulaymaniyah/ Silêmanî.

At around the same time, Deniz Cevdet Bülbün, the representative the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) — Kurdish umbrella organisation — was killed in an armed attack on the KNK's Erbil (Hewlêr) office.

"This was an attack on the unity of the Kurdish people," Kurdish community representative Brusk Aeiveri told the rally.

He accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) authorities of collaborating with the Turkish state to facilitate attacks like these.

The protest called for a free Kurdistan.  On the KRG, Azhi Rasul (RUDAW) reports:

Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court on Sunday ruled to dissolve the Kurdistan Region’s provincial councils “due to the end of their electoral cycle,” after declaring an amendment for their extension as “unconstitutional.”

The court stated that Article No. 2 in Law No. 2 of 2019, which amended the provincial councils for the provinces of the Kurdistan Region, was “unconstitutional,” it said in a statement.

According to provisions from Article 2 of the Iraqi constitution, the amendments went against the principles of democracy and infringed on basic rights and freedoms.

Elections for the Kurdistan Region’s provincial councils were last held in April 2014, and members of the council were sworn in on June of the same year to serve for four years, until June 2018.

ALMAYADEEN notes, "It is worth noting that in July 2019, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq's Parliament passed a proposal to amend the law governing provincial councils in the region, including extending the terms of the existing councils to bridge the legal gap created by the expiration of their mandates."  MEDYA NEWS adds, "Journalist Fehim Işık told Medya News that the Kurdistan Regional Government is now considering how to respond to the court’s decision. However, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has been left without a functioning legislative body since May due to disputed parliamentary elections. This impasse has prevented the parties from taking collective decisions or convening parliament."
